Dairy Free Alfredo Sauce

 

Settling in for a family pleasing dinner of pizza using Nostalgica Foods pizza mix. With our simple to make pizza mix and just as easy to make dairy free Alfredo sauce, this was amazing! You’d never know this Alfredo sauce is dairy free, it hits all the right notes: creamy, cheesy and garlicky!


I wrote this dairy free Alfredo sauce recipe for Healthy Comforts cookbook a couple of years ago and it’s a family favourite. Enjoy it with gluten free pasta, zucchini noodles, on pizza, as a dip or as a sandwich spread. It’s stays in the fridge for approximately a week.

Dairy free Alfredo sauce:

1 cup of raw, unsalted cashews. Soaked in hot water for 20-30 minutes.

1/2 cup of cold water for blending

1/4 cup of nutritional yeast

1 garlic clove

Juice if half a lemon

3/4 tsp unrefined sea salt

 


Directions:

Once cashews have soaked, drain and rinse under cold water until water runs clear.

Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender.

Blend until smooth, transfer to a glass jar and refrigerate.
